Wallenius Wilhelmsen ASA announces proposed new Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors

Oslo, Norway, 15 April 2020 - Wallenius Wilhelmsen ASA (OSE: WALWIL) announces that its nomination committee has nominated Mr. Rune Bjerke for election as Vice Chairman of the Board at the company's Annual General Meeting to be held on 28 April 2020 at 13:00 CET.

The Nomination Committee believes that it is important to take a long-term view and to plan for the eventual recruitment of a new Chairman of the Board when the current Chairman's term expire in 2021. Mr Håkan Larsson shall continue to serve through his term, and the Nomination Committee considers that a period of overlap between Mr Håkan Larsson and his successor will benefit the Company and the functioning of its Board.

Mr Rune Bjerke is a well-known business leader in Norway and Scandinavia, having served as CEO of DNB, Hafslund and Scancem International. He has over the last decade steered DNB and its operations successfully through a period of digital transformation and in a shifting international business climate. The Nomination Committee considers that he is eminently suited to serve as Vice Chairman and later Chairman of the Board of Wallenius Wilhelmsen ASA. Mr Bjerke's employment at DNB expires on 17 June 2020, and he cannot take up his position as Board member until after this date. The Nomination Committee therefore proposes that he is elected as a member of the Board with effect from 18 June 2020.

Amended AGM notice is attached to this notice and will be published together with the nomination committees' statement on the company's webpage.
