"At Wallenius Wilhelmsen, our customers count on us to deliver more than just cargo—they trust us to deliver reliability, agility, and smart solutions across global trade routes. That’s what drives my work every day."

Say Hi,

Hi, my name is Jaeung Lee. I began my journey with the group in 2011 at EUKOR Car Carriers, and over the past 14 years, I’ve had the opportunity to see our business through many lenses—from business operations to product development, investor relations, and global transformation projects. Each role deepened my understanding of what matters most to our customers: seamless service and strategic partnership.

When I returned to Business Operations Execution after a global transformation initiative, I stepped into my current role as Capacity Manager for the Asia–Oceania (ASOC) trade with a renewed focus: to connect long-term strategy with everyday execution—ensuring we create real, measurable value for our customers.

What I do—and why it matters for you

Today, I oversee capacity for one of our fastest-growing trades. With the full integration of Armacup and the start of service for Hyundai Motor Group from January 2025, our network is expanding quickly. My role is to make sure that growth translates into meaningful benefits for our customers.

That means making smarter use of our vessel network, ensuring flexibility when demand shifts, and maximizing cargo space to deliver better time charter equivalent (TCE) performance and service outcomes. I work closely with teams across Asia and Oceania—sales, planning, stowage, operations—to make sure every shipment runs smoothly and efficiently.

For customers, this results in fewer delays, more consistent schedules, and a logistics partner that adapts to their needs—not the other way around.

Building one unified service together

One of the biggest value-adds for customers today comes from harmonizing operations across Wallenius Wilhelmsen Ocean, EUKOR, and Armacup. By integrating systems, aligning port operations, and creating shared standards, we’re delivering a more predictable, unified service.

What used to be fragmented is now seamless: from booking to cargo handling, customers experience a consistent quality of service—regardless of brand we own. That integration translates into fewer handoffs, more transparency, and smoother delivery across the board.

What integration with Armacup means for you

Armacup has a legacy in the region, especially for its reliability in meeting New Zealand’s strict biosecurity regulations. Now, as part of the Wallenius Wilhelmsen network, that deep local expertise is combined with global scale.

Customers benefit from:

  • A larger, more flexible vessel pool that allows quicker response to changing cargo flows
  • Integrated logistics and digital tools for end-to-end visibility
  • Streamlined service across every touchpoint—from booking to final delivery
  • Smarter and greener options, aligned with our broader sustainability ambitions

In short, we’re creating a network that’s not only bigger, but better—more agile, compliant, and forward-looking.

Meeting tomorrow’s demand

The Asia–Oceania trade lane is evolving fast—especially with the increase of Chinese and Southeast Asian vehicle exports. We’re meeting that momentum head-on with the region’s most frequent sailings from China to Oceania, expanded capacity with Hyundai Motor Group, and access to our global fleet.

For our customers, that means:

  • More sailing options
  • Better space availability
  • Flexible, resilient schedules
  • Integrated solutions ready to scale with your growth

Turning challenges into opportunities

This trade is not without complexity. Countries like Australia and New Zealand have some of the world’s toughest biosecurity regulations—especially during Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (BMSB) season. But instead of seeing that as a hurdle, we see it as an opportunity to build trust.

We stay ahead of regulations, work with certified inspection providers, and support our customers every step of the way—from documentation to treatment processes. Because when we get it right, your supply chain stays on schedule, and your reputation remains intact.

The road ahead

If there’s one thing I’m most excited about this Asia-Oceania trade, it’s how we’re building something truly future-ready. We're not just adding ships or increasing volumes—we’re creating a smarter, more connected, and more customer-focused trade network.

For our customers across Asia and Oceania, that means confidence in your supply chain, no matter how the market shifts. That’s what I strive to deliver—every day.
