Wallenius Wilhelmsen extends shipping contract with a major auto manufacturer into 2031
Wallenius Wilhelmsen has agreed to an early three-year extension of a contract
with a leading European auto manufacturer. The extension will run from mid-2028
to mid-2031 with an estimated value of the contract extension of around USD 420m
on top of the remaining initial value of around USD 180m.
The extension reflects a long-standing strategic relationship and provides
earnings visibility at sustainable rate levels for the next 5 years. It also
reflects the value of our reliable and flexible service offering and the
ambition to further strengthen the collaboration.
"We will continue to support the customer across their outbound supply chain and
explore opportunities to expand our collaboration across a broader part of the
value chain, including potential logistics scope over time," Synnerman adds.
The agreement includes the use of low-emission fuels, supporting efforts on both
sides to reduce CO2 emissions over time.
The value of the contract extension is based on forecast volumes during the
extension period.
