WW Ocean presented with commendation for biosecurity awareness
Wallenius Wilhelmsen Ocean receives a Biosecurity Certificate of Commendation from Australian government agency.
Wallenius Wilhelmsen Oceans team operating in Port Kembla, New South Wales, was presented with a Biosecurity Certificate of Commendation by the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources (DAWR) in December, 2017.
DAWR recognises and rewards the efforts of exemplary industry partners who have contributed to Australia’s biosecurity. The commendation recognised the biosecurity awareness and business culture of WW Ocean.
“The company receives this commendation, in part, for their immediate response to Brown Marmorated Stink Bugs with truck transporters”, says Haydn Munroe of DAWR.
“WW Ocean took immediate action in isolating and securing all vehicles while contacting the DAWR inspection team to inform and intervene, and by doing so secured and mitigated the risk”, Munroe continues.
WW Ocean also got credit for working collaboratively with the local team of DAWR in the training and development of machinery-accredited staff.
“It is great for the team to see, that due to their diligence, they are being recognised for their efforts”, says Steve Beck, technical services manager of WW Ocean.
