Statement on the current Suez Canal blockage
The Suez Canal remains blocked and all transit has been stopped for vessels in both directions after the Mv Ever Given ran aground.
Ongoing efforts to refloat the vessel, Mv Ever Given, have yet to succeed and it remains unclear when traffic in the the Suez Canal can be resumed.
Blockage of the canal has already created a long queue of vessels awaiting transit and will cause delays to all vessels and their consignments currently operating on routes between Europe and Asia. As of March 26, 11 of our vessels are impacted by the blockage.
We are constantly monitoring the situation to assess the accessibility of the canal to both south and northbound services, and review diverting vessels on the longer route via the Cape of Good Hope.
