Short sea voyages now available between Mexico and US East Coast

WW Ocean is introducing capacity for a short sea service from Mexico to ports on the US East Coast – ideal for car and OEM manufacturers exporting to the US.

Short sea voyages

Vehicle and OEM manufacturers looking to transport their products from Mexico to the US will have even more options to choose from when WW Ocean offers capacity for as many as two sailings a month between Altamira in Mexico and Brunswick (Georgia), Charleston (South Carolina), and Baltimore (Maryland).

The transit time from Altamira to Brunswick will take just five to six days, while services between Altamira and Charleston will take six to seven days.

The automotive manufacturing sector in Mexico principally exports vehicles to the US, and manufacturers require additional options for delivering vehicles to this market.

For car manufacturers, WW Solution’s vehicle processing centres in Brunswick and Baltimore provide facilities for storing, inspecting and processing vehicles prior to final delivery.

There are also facilities in Altamira that make the terminal suitable for loading vehicles, rolling equipment and breakbulk. The area also features an additional berthing option for car-loading.
