On the ocean

Our ocean product out of Europe is essentially back to normal with increased volumes towards the end of 2020. However, we are still in a pandemic situation with high uncertainty and now also compounded by component/semi-conductor shortages for many OEM’s, affecting shipping volumes. Therefore, we will continue to adapt our product according to forecast of volumes received from our customers and possible changes on short notice. In this context, please continue to rely on the communication with your local Wallenius Wilhelmsen contacts

Bills of lading: We encourage customers to take advantage of Express Release Bills of Lading in lieu of Original Bills of Lading (OBL), as the electronic process will help expedite the release of your cargo at destination. While we continue to support OBL’s, printing and sending original documentation may be delayed.

In ports and terminals

Operations: All our regular ports of call in Europe, including our terminals in Zeebrugge, Southampton and stevedoring in Bremerhaven, are open and operational.

Health Care: Our terminals have incorporated WHO and other similar guidelines in line with the countries in which they operate. While these may vary, staff continue to share and adopt best practices on how to keep people safe and facilities clean.

At our processing centres

Vehicle processing
Zeebrugge: Our vehicle processing centre is open and operational. Hours of operation remain the same and staff is equipped with safety materials to prevent exposure.

Our vehicle processing centre is open and operational. Staff is continuing to work closely with customers to support increased storage requirements.

South Africa:
We remain operational at processing facilities and rail terminals, though with reduced volumes at some facilities. We continue to follow government and customer guidelines to ensure the health and safety of staff.

Equipment processing
Zeebrugge: Our equipment processing centre is open and operational. As storage capacity continues to be stretched, we encourage customers to pick up their cargo as soon as possible. Hours of operation remain 06:00-22:00.

Dubai: Our equipment processing centre is open and operational. We are working with our customers to support their additional storage requirements.

As OEMs continue to operate with varied manufacturing schedules and as they face new and potentially unforeseen challenges, we are committed to supporting our customers to maintain a healthy supply chain. We welcome the opportunity to discuss your needs further.

At our offices

Most office-based staff continue to work from home. However, we have opened a few offices in accordance with local rules and recommendations.
