New Wallenius Wilhelmsen group brands – building for the future

Oslo, Norway, 15 March, 2018 – The Wallenius Wilhelmsen group was created in April last year, when Wallenius of Sweden and Wilhelmsen of Norway combined ownership of their jointly owned companies and relevant assets. The company is now launching new brands in line with its new structure and strategy.

The former operating entity Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics (WWL)  has been restructured into two entities; one ocean transport company named Wallenius Wilhelmsen Ocean (WW Ocean) and a land-based logistics entity named Wallenius Wilhelmsen Solutions (WW Solutions). The new  branding reflects the new business strategy where ocean transportation and land-based logistics will operate side by side as distinct, yet connected entities. The Wallenius Wilhelmsen group also incorporates the brands EUKOR and ARC, which continue to operate under their own brands.

 Looking forward, the Wallenius Wilhelmsen group is ready to embrace the significant changes taking place in the automotive and rolling equipment industries.

“We see shifts from car ownership to car usership, increase in scale of autonomy, increased electrification of vehicles and new entrants providing mobility solutions in very different ways – all challenging existing supply chain, retail and servicing models for vehicles. To meet this development, we aim to develop our logistics infrastructure and service capability, on sea and on land,” says Wallenius Wilhelmsen group CEO Craig Jasienski.

“For every vehicle in the world, from when it leaves the production line and until recycled at end of life, there remains a logistics and servicing need. We see it as our purpose to work with our customers in defining and developing logistics for this world in motion. With change comes opportunities to  industrialise and to boost our customers efficiency, reducing the environmental impact across the value chain,” says Jasienski.

Background
The new Wallenius Wilhelmsen logo is a new, modern take on the traditional W, made up of two lines and a circle. The track-like lines symbolise the products transported on the companies roll-on-roll-off vessels, as well as the landbased logistics it provides. The circle evokes the degrees so prevalent in navigation, the “O” of Ocean, as well as the life-cycle perspective. The sea-foam green colour symbolises the Ocean and the grey land.
